The download comes from LedgerDesk's release page on GitHub. Features marked Next update on the home page are not in version 1.5.0 yet; when the next version is out, the app offers it to you.

Install in five steps

  1. Download the installer

    Click the button above and save LedgerDesk-Setup.exe.

  2. Open it. If Windows warns you, click "More info", then "Run anyway"

    Windows may show a blue box that says "Windows protected your PC". This is Microsoft SmartScreen. It appears because the installer is not yet signed with a paid code-signing certificate, not because anything is wrong with it. Click More info, check that the app is LedgerDesk-Setup.exe, then click Run anyway. Only do this for a file you downloaded from this website.

  3. Follow the installer

    It installs LedgerDesk like any other Windows program and adds it to the Start menu.

  4. Set up your business

    The first time you open LedgerDesk it asks for your business details: name, address, GSTIN and state. Your state decides whether a bill gets CGST + SGST or IGST, so set it correctly.

  5. Start billing

    Press F8 for a new sales bill. Your 14-day trial is running. To keep going after it, ask us for a licence and enter the key in Settings.

Good to know

Your books are kept safe on updates

LedgerDesk checks for a new version when it starts and offers to install it. Your books live in your Windows user folder (%APPDATA%\LedgerDesk), so updating or reinstalling never touches them.

Internet is optional

You need the internet to download, to get updates, to check a licence key, and to sign in or use cloud backup if you choose to. Everything else works offline.

Other devices

LedgerDesk is Windows only for now. An Android app is in development: get notified on WhatsApp. There is no Mac or iPhone version.
